At Lifetime we believe that privacy is paramount. We respect the privacy of our clients and are committed to safely managing and protecting the information that has been collected, and only using it for the purposes for which it was intended.

By engaging Lifetime’s services, we assume that you have read and understand our Privacy Statement.

Our purpose for collecting your personal information

In order to create greater financial security for you, we will collect, store and use your personal information which is relevant to providing you with the agreed products and services. We will use your contact information to communicate with you and provide reports and statements about the products you hold with Lifetime, and newsletters about our business. We may also use your information to help operate and improve our business, product offerings and services.

How we collect your personal information

Lifetime will endeavour to collect personal information directly from the person that information relates to. We may collect personal information when 

  • You call or email us
  • Speak to us in person
  • Complete online forms or surveys
  • Comment on or engage with our social media posts
  • Use our websites and other digital platforms

In some circumstances, we may collect information from third parties, however Lifetime will seek your consent prior to approaching any third party for further personal information.

The type information we collect from you

We will collect a range of information from you to enable us to design and implement your financial solutions. This may include:

  • Personal details such as name, address, date of birth, gender, and occupation details
  • Details of assets and liabilities such as income, savings, home, contents, car, credit cards, personal and student loans, mortgages, KiwiSaver, other retirement savings schemes, and bank account details
  • Information relating to businesses, partnerships, trusts and investment portfolios
  • Health information to support any insurance applications or claims, or that could impact your employment with Lifetime
    Any health information held by Lifetime is subject to the additional protection of the Health Information Privacy Code 2020
  • Information about computer IP addresses, cookies, browser and operating systems

Storing and protecting your personal information 

To protect personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed. Personal information is held at our offices and on our systems, which are secure, and cloud based.

Sharing and disclosing your personal information

Lifetime will endeavour to keep personal information it has collected confidential. We may disclose clients’ personal information to other agencies to enable any business to be processed, maintained or advised on, as agreed with you at the time of collection.

Lifetime is obliged to provide personal information by law, under Court Orders or Statutory Notices, or to industry regulators or independent compliance personnel as part of Lifetime’s requirements to meet regulatory and industry standards.

Business Partners and Third Party Services

Our website is hosted with SilverStripe Ltd. They provide us with the online platform that allows us to promote our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through SilverStripe’s data storage, databases and the general SilverStripe application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our website’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

When you click on links on our website, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

Retention and disposal of personal information

Lifetime is required to hold information on our secure systems for as long as determined by New Zealand legislation and regulations.
For clients who receive a personalised financial advice or accounting service from us, we must store records for a minimum of 7 years from the end of our business relationship, at which time any hard or electronic copies will be securely destroyed.

Accessing your personal information

Every person has the right to access and correct any information that Lifetime holds about them.
